Anchovies have always existed, and were used to prepare a condiment called garum in ancient times. During Middle Ages, this fish was mostly consumed salty in order to be kept longer.
Today, anchovies are widely consumed by humans, but also by terrestrial animals. This little fish is very rich in minerals, iron and vitamins. It is one of the richest fish in vitamin A, which is an antioxidant vitamin and thus very efficient against free radical attacks.
Anchovies have a delicate and tender flesh, and got a fresh taste.
